Hero Quest- Gargoyle

So I’ve finally got to the last miniature, that of the Gargoyle (the proper, living breathing Gargoyle not the statue mentioned previously). I went with a red flesh and gold colour scheme:

Skin and Wings: Screamer Pink, Evil Sunz Scarlet base coat, Army Painter Dark Tone Ink, Highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet Armour and Sword: Brass Scorpion, Dark Tone Ink, Highlight with Hashut Copper Mouth: Screamer Pink, Tongue in Evil Sunz Scarlet, Dark Tone Ink, Highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet Teeth, Claws etc.: Ushabti Bone, Brown Ink, Highlight with Ushabti Bone Whip: White base coat, Evil sunz scarlet blending to Blazing Orange blending to Sunburst Yellow. Blended using damp brush whilst paint still slightly damp. Once fully dry, dry brushed with Hashut Copper very faintly to make shimmer (thanks to my good lady for that idea!) Chainmail: Leadbelcher, Dark Tone ink, Dry brush with Leadbelcher In all its glory…

Hero Quest- Witch Lord

The final miniature I completed on my vacation was the Witch Lord. Again, I was so in the zone that I didn’t get any progress shots. However, the paint scheme is detailed as below:

Gloves, Boots and Tabbard

Macragge Blue, Army Painter Dark Tone ink for shading, highlighting with mixture of Macragge Blue and Ceramite White

Under garment (e.g. arms and legs)

Lightened shade of Macragge Blue (Blue:White 3:1), Dark Tone ink shading, highlighting with even lighter shade of base coat

Helmet

Leadbelcher drybrushed

Belt

Leadbelcher drybrushed then Gehenna’s Gold for Skull and top and bottom edges

Skull Pendant

Leadbelcher drybrushed

Face/mask

Gehenna’s Gold, Dark Tone ink shading, Gehenna’s Gold highlighting (drybrushed)

Arm bands and ball on helmet

Hashut Copper, Dark Tone ink shading

Helmet horns

Gehenna’s Gold

And here’s the finished miniature:

And yes, I know he’s heavily influenced by this chap.

Hero Quest- Chaos Warriors

As with the Fimirs, I managed to get these done quickly and so have no “In Progress” photos but below is the paint scheme I used:

Armour

Leadbelcher, Army Painter Dark Tone ink for shading, highlighting with Leadbelcher (drybrushed)

Gauntlets and Boots

Rhinox Hide base coat, Dark Tone ink for shading, Mix of Rhinox Hide and Bestial Brown for highlighting using drybrush

Axe

Leadbelcher drybrushed for head, shaft using Bestial Brown followed by Dark Tone Ink

Trousers

I used either Caliban Green, Rhinox Hide, Macragge Blue or Screamer Pink (to add some variety)

They came out ok (in my opinion!)

And one of the Chaos Warriors from each direction

Hero Quest- Fimirs

Thanks to a recent vacation I had a whole load of time to kickback and so, obviously, decided to catch up on my painting backlog! The next on my list were the Fimir’s in Hero Quest which went quite quickly as they’re mostly green and I zipped through them so quickly I didn’t really take photos at each stage along the way. Anyway, here they are:

The paint scheme was:

Shaft: Rhinox hide
